Thanksgiving Fundraisers Print E-mail
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Most of us are getting all excited planning for our families to be together and competing as to whom can make the best turkey and pumpkin pie!
Unfortunately, not everyone is so lucky. There are many families that can not afford a Thanksgiving dinner.  What can we do to help them?

Thanksgiving fundraiserFor those of you that would like to donate a turkey or canned goods, just look up the local food bank in your area. Here’s a great Thanksgiving Food Bank! They donated turkeys and a box of trimmings to over 1100 families last year.

There are also many that organize a pre-Thanksgiving dinner supper in order to raise funds for the local food bank. Harpoon is having their  pre-Thanksgiving dinner fundraiser on November 4th, 2007. They are charging $45 for an all you can eat meal, sodas and three beers.

eFundraising.com is currently having a great fundraising sale for Thanksgiving. They are offering offering 15% Free Bonus cards on your next scratchcard fundraiser. That means up to 95% profit! But only till November 1st, 2007.

Lots of non-profits are hosting fundraising events on Thanksgiving Day seeing that most people do take the time off. Meals on Wheels of Western L.A. is having a Thanksgiving Day Ride in order to raise funds for the disabled, elderly and ill in their community. Last year they raised over $3000! Hey, it is a great way to burn off calories to accommodate all the turkey and pie you’ll be eating afterwords.

Whether you want to donate food, organize a supper, sell products to raise funds or ride your bike on Thanksgiving, it's up to you. But it would be nice if all of us could do something in order to ensure that everyone has something to be thankful for on Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving Fundraising :-)
